Dirk Liesenfeld

[Pronounced: “Deerek Leezenfelt”]

Since 1998, I have been accompanying people with empathy, heart, and clarity of mind. My approach combines:
Psychodynamics Psychodynamic approaches help to better understand unconscious inner conflicts that influence our thinking, feelings, and behavior. These patterns are often rooted in past experiences that continue to have an impact today. Gestalt-oriented psychotherapy, as a specific approach, focuses on the here and now. The aim is to resolve entrenched patterns and strengthen vitality as well as personal scope for action.

(e.g. depth-psychology-based psychotherapy, Gestalt therapy)
Talk Psychotherapy The person-centered talk therapy is an empathetic and appreciative form of therapeutic support. The focus is on you, your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The therapist supports you in finding your own solutions. Through genuine interest, authentic empathy, and acceptance, inner clarity, self-confidence, and change can emerge.

(e.g. integrative person-centered talk therapy)
EMDR Trauma Therapy EMDR trauma therapy is a highly effective, scientifically based method used to process distressing experiences in a targeted and sustainable way. It helps to reduce old emotions, tension, and stress, allowing traumatic memories to gradually lose their emotional intensity and making space for greater calm and balance.

(for both acute and long-standing trauma experiences)

Other methods, such as relaxation techniques, and behavioral therapy approaches, also flow into my work. I work with individual clients, couples, and families.

How Many Sessions Are Necessary?

The number of sessions is highly individual and depends on your concerns, goals and personal pace. Weekly sessions are often helpful at the beginning, with longer intervals becoming appropriate later on. We will discuss together what feels right for your situation. Therapeutic processes generally require several sessions (often 6 – 12) in order to achieve a healing effect.
Under Individual Services you can find more information about the different formats.
